We are currently working with Baptcare to design a new Integrated Living Community within the newly developed Mosaic Living Estate in Lalor. The project comprises a new 120 bed aged care facility adjacent to a complex of 135 independent living residences, and a community hub and wellbeing centre. The community has been designed to provide a high level of amenity to residents, visitors and staff alike, with a strong focus on walkability, recreational open space and modelling a strong neighbourhood identity.
The double storey aged care facility has been envisioned as a dementia friendly, homelike environment, with the design centered around large courtyards allowing residents both passive and active recreation. The facility has been planned to provide neighbourhood clusters of 15 residents, creating a more private feel and an intimate sense of community.
The independent living residences provide a mix of 7 star ESD single storey units, together with a double storey complex of contemporary apartments offering 1 bedroom plus study, 2 bedroom, and 3 bedroom options.
Current Status: The design has recently been lodged for planning approval with construction of the Residential Aged Care Facility commencing in early 2016, and the Independent Living Residences commencing in mid 2016.
