ClarkeHopkinsClarke worked with Belmont Primary School to redevelop the existing heritage building and school site. The redevelopment works have opened up the traditional cellular classrooms to create a learning neighbourhood specifically for the junior year students, providing a variety of learning environments that encourage research, collaboration and investigation, and have a strong interface with outdoor activated play areas. New facilities include Multi-Purpose Hall, Canteen, Resource Centre and Administration Centre. The project also allowed for the relocation and rejuvenation of the school entrance to better engage with the street. The additions to the heritage building were designed to highlight and contrast with the heritage features, providing a coherent interface between the existing building stock and the contemporary forms of the BER Library and Learning Centre facility we recently completed at the school.
