The new Health and Community Centre of Excellence at the Bendigo City Campus of Bendigo Tafe opened officially today with The Hon. Gayle Tierney MLC (Minister for Training and Skills), local MPs Marree Edwards and Jacinta Allan, and Trevor Scwenke, CEO of Bendigo Kangan Institute in attendance. This exciting new facility was designed to create vibrant and technology-rich learning spaces that shape a strong identity of excellence, enhance industry connections, and provide innovative and tailored educational environments for specialist health and community services programs.
The project has transformed an existing three storey brick building on the Bendigo City Campus, replacing much of the brickwork with a high-performance double-glazed glass façade that has enlivened the internal learning spaces with natural light which will in turn aid productivity and wellbeing for students, lecturers, staff and visitors. Located on a prominent corner, the building was conceived as a beacon of change for the campus, with all the creative ideas and learning occurring within the building being visible from the outside, and creating an activated and welcoming interface to industry and the campus community.
