The One Heart Children’s Village Primary School & Children’s Home project in Eldoret, Kenya has recently been recognised at the world Association for Learning Environment Awards with a Special Citation.
The project was conceived by ClarkeHopkinsClarke Partner, Dean Landy, and made a reality by One Heart Foundation, a charity he founded. The project evolved from the belief that education can improve the lives of disadvantaged children and strengthen communities through providing hope, by building key skills and knowledge, and addressing social issues through the schools that One Heart builds. When coupled with a caring and supportive family environment, as created in the One Heart homes, we start to see a powerful impact in the communities affected by poverty.
This initial stage of the project was a purpose-built house and refurbishment of an existing building to accommodate 71 orphaned and abandoned children and a school for 100 local students from Prep to Grade 5.
ClarkeHopkinsClarke are proud to partner with One Heart Foundation as part of our social impact strategy. Together we aim to improve the quality of education, and more importantly, the quality of life for children in Africa and in so doing, to lift them out of poverty.
