One Heart Foundation, established by ClarkeHopkinsClarke Partner Dean Landy, is calling all architects interested in contributing to a life changing international design project. The organisation is launching a design competition offering entrants from around the world the opportunity to design and masterplan an eco-village for abandoned and orphaned children in Kenya.
The challenge consists of two parts: firstly, to masterplan a holistic children’s eco-village complete with the facilities outlined in the competition brief, and secondly, to create a unique design solution for each of these facilities. Dean Landy introduces the competition as a “rare opportunity for participants to showcase their design skills, work alongside a large scale Australian practice, see their project come to life, and most importantly, to help transform the lives of the most neglected children in the most disadvantaged regions of the world”.
Registration opens 28 October and closes 18 November 2016, with the final design submission due 16 December, 2016. Winners will be announced in early 2017.
