One Heart Foundation Design Competition Winner Announced

February, 2017

The Winner of the One Heart Foundation Children’s Eco-Village Design Competition was announced last Friday, with Malaysian entrant Edric Choo and his team from O2DA architects submitting the winning entry. The competition was an outstanding success with 45 submissions received from participants in 21 countries around the world.

ClarkeHopkinsClarke extend our congratulations to Edric and his team on their beautifully conceived and aspirational design, and we look forward to working together to deliver this exciting project.

The new children’s eco-village will be constructed in Soy, Kenya and will eventually provide homes for 100 orphaned and abandoned children, a primary and high school for over 700 local children, a skills training centre, community centre and income generating eco-farm.

“Choo’s design is a stunning concept that blends African influences, locally sourced materials and a certain warmth and nurturing sense of place. A well deserved winner in a global competition.”
