Consolidated Land and Rail Australia (CLARA) is a private Australian group with a vision to build the most liveable cities in the world, to deliver and implement a new and more efficient population strategy for our nation. At the core of CLARA’s mission lies a plan to create smart greenfield cities linking the great – but increasingly congested and unaffordable – cities of Sydney and Melbourne, and to connect them with a high speed rail system and in doing so create a series of new smart cities that can provide new opportunities for Australia’s growing population.
ClarkeHopkinsClarke has been selected to lead the design team along with Roberts Day to provide urban design and architecture services for the visioning and design of the first of 8 new smart cities that will eventually accommodate a population of 2,400,000 people. We are joined by a world-leading team of consultants including PWC, Cardno, Arcadis, Slattery and DLA Piper, and connecting with organisations including CSIRO, Cisco and Hitachi. This landmark project will provide Australia with the opportunity to set a new benchmark for new smart, sustainable, compact and liveable cities of the future.
