This new, 126 bed aged care facility is being developed on a greenfield site within a new retirement living estate in Maroochydore, Queensland. The double storey facility is ideally located amongst low density single residences to the east, a proposed future retirement village to the west, and the Sunshine Plaza in close proximity. Designed to support Estia Health’s commitment to provide a comfortable, secure, home-like environment where residents are respected and life is celebrated, the planning seeks to create a vibrant sense of community, with large internal courtyards and landscaped outdoors areas providing natural light to 18 bed clusters of single bedrooms. Lounge and dining areas have been arranged on a central plane, and a hub of integrated resident services include café, physio, hair salon, wellbeing centre and consulting suite. The angular geometric forms of the new facility shape a contemporary aesthetic, articulated by a neutral palette of brick, timber and contrasting light/dark tones, with splashes of turquoise to provide a fresh, bright and welcoming identity.
