Kew Gardens Aged Care has been developed as a prestigious facility that reminiscent of a private club or hotel. It’s 100 individual resident rooms are each immaculately furnished, with a private ensuite, dedicated basement car parking, and access to high-quality communal facilities including a dining room, library, resident lounge, café, cinema and sitting rooms. Consulting rooms are also onsite for visiting clinicians, hairdressers and podiatrists.
ClarkeHopkinsClarke is currently working with Australian Aged Care Group on a Town Planning application for the possible expansion of this facility. The proposed three-storey extension will see the addition of 44 premium residential suites with access to communal dining, lounge, sitting and courtyard/terrace areas, which have been orientated to take advantage of the outlook through the elm trees which line Gellibrand Street.
The proposed design sits comfortably alongside the existing facility and blends into the residential streetscape. The link connection between the existing and new facilities will provide an architectural break between the façade treatment of the existing building and its contemporary interpretation of the new façade.
