ClarkeHopkinsClarke initially worked with King David School on the College Masterplan which involved the development and renewal of facilities at the two existing campuses of this K-12 College and the development of the Magid Institute, a new senior secondary campus.
The Magid Institute project saw the refurbishment and redevelopment of heritage listed buildings and the development of new facilities to create an integrated and contemporary educational campus.
A strong emphasis was placed on providing intimate learning spaces for each year level, with classrooms clustered together in the main building for each of years 10, 11 and 12, as well as a dedicated year nine centre developed in the converted two-storey house. Specialist facilities are provided within the main building, including a resource centre with computer studio, science laboratories, careers centre and other support / administration areas, as well as a multi-purpose hall for performing arts, media and arts studios. The brightly coloured courtyard located between the mansion and the new wing provides students with a place to relax and socialise during breaks, creating a sense of community on campus.
