Balambalam Primary School in Clyde Creek North is part of the Victorian Government’s investment in education infrastructure for Melbourne’s growing south-east. The new primary school will cater for 715 students from Prep to Grade 6 and has been designed to support best-practice inclusive learning aligned with the Supported Inclusion Hub model.
Delivered in partnership with K2LD Architects as part of the New Schools 2025 Bundle B, the project forms part of a new generation of inclusive schools across Casey and Cardinia. Set within a larger sports, community and education precinct, the masterplan also provides for a future kindergarten, supporting shared community use and continuity from early years education.
The school’s Learning Neighbourhoods are designed as flexible, interconnected environments that support emotional, sensory and intellectual needs through adaptable home bases, shared learning areas, retreat spaces and outdoor connections. The design also reflects the history and culture of the Bunurong People and the landscape of Saltwater Country, creating a strong sense of place.
A modular kit-of-parts approach, durable materials and environmentally sustainable design strategies have delivered a cost-effective, future-focused school with strong long-term value.
