Located within the highly sustainable innovation precinct, Melbourne Connect, ClarkeHopkinsClarke's new studio exemplifies changing work, practice values, and decades of community-building expertise.

The 1,849 sqm fit-out was modelled off urban design methodology and our practice values: Listen First, Stay Curious, Create Together and Make it Matter. A public-facing ‘town square’ reception and landscaped laneways link diverse sectors with flexible spaces for collaboration, focused work, socialising and events, animated by extraordinary light, ventilation, and views.

At the floorplate edge, an expansive, versatile kitchen is the social heart of the design. Like sector workspaces, it shares energising light and stunning city views with everyone.

A neutral palette of high-ESD materials complements the base build, accented with warm timbers and terracotta tones. Designers were required to meet stringent compliance targets for studio design, materials, fittings and operations.
