Six Thiele Street
Sloping site gives rise to modular design approach
Six Thiele Street comprises 50 one and two bedroom apartments over three levels. Each apartment features open plan living spaces opening onto their own private terrace, maximising natural light and optimising adaptability to each resident’s sense of style.
Developed on an inclined site with a difference of 1 and half storeys from north to the south, the design and construction of the complex featured a modular approach, with a suitable mixture of apartment types providing varying living options. A rain garden at the front of the complex has been incorporated to provide an organic delineation of public and private spaces and soften the interface with the street.
The design focuses on maximising storage,and features a pared-back palette of materials and finishes to allow each resident to colour the space with their own personality. A refined, timeless style shaped a minimalist approach to the design, with key considerations in the details of joinery providing a playful discourse on the idea of reveal vs conceal.
Six Thiele Apartments shapes a vibrant community of individual residences that provide a cohesive identity of minimalist style, playful detailing and open plan living.
