Situated on Melbourne’s iconic Spencer Street, this 20-storey mixed-use development will include 177 apartments with ground floor retail, breathing life into the once vacant West Melbourne block.
Providing a mixed offering of one and two-bedroom apartments that sit above the retail podium, this development features lifestyle-focused amenities for residents, including a gym, outdoor pool, 690 square metre communal area, 48 car parking spaces and 94 bike bays. The design features large, glazed windows at ground level to enhance views of the retail spaces and apartment lobby for pedestrians, combined with a highly articulated facade that uses vertical and horizontal banding to create a sense of visual rhythm that fits seamlessly into the West Melbourne landscape.
The design includes a 600 square metre rooftop terrace, incorporating a green garden complete with dining area and break out spaces, encouraging resident connection and providing added amenity. The rooftop garden will look to include four distinct zones to cater to the needs of various plant life, from smaller root vegetables and above ground planting through to citrus trees and walnut groves, with each carefully situated to ensure the correct sun exposure. This project is one of only a few designs across Melbourne that fully embraces the City of Melbourne’s Rooftop Project initiative, a strategy formed to encourage the creation of solar, cool and green rooftops across Melbourne’s cityscape.
