Our team are currently working with St John of God Hospital Geelong to develop a new Intensive Care Unit building as part of the staged redevelopment of the hospital campus. Partially complete, the project has delivered a new ICU building comprising a 12 bed ICU and associated staff and public facilities, a multi-purpose education facility, and the expansion of the existing theatre department which includes an additional catheterisation lab and operating theatre. In addition, refurbishment works which are currently under construction will see the transformation of the existing ICU ward to create a dedicated 16 bed Cardiac Inpatient Unit.
The planning and design of this key project reflects the architectural language and materials of the previous stages of development, and also responds to the character of the surrounding streetscape. The design of the new building provides a welcoming and dynamic street presence, providing a strong sense of identity that celebrates the revitalisation, renewal and evolution of the hospital campus.
