Emily Lucchesi

Architect

B(Env) MArch, UniMelb

“I’m driven by the opportunity to design and build with the land, rather than simply on it.”

Emily brings broad experience in residential architecture, hospitality, interiors and joinery detailing design to her role as project architect in our Seniors Living & Care team. She’s driven by a passion for sustainable living, adaptive re-use and permaculture, and creates homes as havens strongly connected to the natural world.

She thrives on the variety of her role, especially collaborating closely with clients, project teams and consultants. Emily is calm under pressure, meticulous and positive in her energy and outlook. She brings together all the diverse elements of design and functionality essential to deliver on project vision.

In 2024 she was shortlisted for Australian Design Review’s 2024 30UNDER30 Award, which recognises “the most inspiring and promising architects and innovators of the built environment”. She is a member of the in-house team driving our practice’s Sustainability Action Plan.

As a designer of spaces and communities for ageing, Emily is motivated “by the need to change our industry for the better and create a more sustainable approach to design, building and living in an everchanging world that we need to take care of”. She’s inspired by the Country she works on and aims to understand both “the natural elements of the land, and how built form might better interact with it.”
