Morris Moor transforms the iconic Philip Morris cigarette factory into a community orientated mixed-use precinct. It co-locates commercial offices for creative industries and ‘maker’ style businesses alongside food, beverage and retail to create a destination that brings the community together to enjoy the company of family and friends.
Comprising of 8 historic buildings across 62,700 sqm of land, ClarkeHopkinsClarke has been engaged to take on the exciting new stage 2. This includes reimagining a dark main factory building into a modern light-filled office and industrial space.
The design supports the project vision by adopting a philosophy of ‘touching the building lightly’. The original industrial aesthetic, structure and materials have been retained with modern insertions such as a large number of skylights to bring in natural light, and an series of landscaped internal courtyards and "laneways" to connect the diverse office tenancies
