Pica Apartments
Capturing the tranquility of Melbourne's ballooning history in bustling Richmond
Capturing the historic character of this vibrant location, the Pica Apartment development features 19 apartments over six levels with a cafe area at street level to provide residents with that morning hit of caffeine on their way to work.
Located on a quiet, semi-industrial street, in close proximity to the Bridge Road shopping strip, the design of this new apartment complex tells a unique Melbourne story.
The facade and built form reflect an abstracted interpretation of hot air balloons rising into the sky, creating a dynamic composition of geometric forms rising from the streetscape, and paying tribute to the hot air ballooning business that has operated from this site since 1999.
The complex provides a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, which feature an abundance of natural light and a calm, clean and sharp interior aesthetic to complement the clean lines of the architectural form.
