University of Tasmania Sandy Bay Campus

An inclusive and regenerative masterplan for Sandy Bay

Location: Nipaluna Country, Sandy Bay TAS
Status: In Planning

The University of Tasmania has unveiled the draft concept masterplan for its Sandy Bay Campus which will be an emerging vision for urban renewal and walkability. We are excited to have been appointed the lead role as masterplanners and architects to help shape an inclusive, regenerative future for this unique 100Ha site only 3km from the capital city of Hobart.

The proposal will retain and restore key built form, protect and enhance the rivulets and bushland, introduce a wide mixture of uses that will provide for the community, and support the local Tasmanian economy through tourism, retail, recreation, innovation, and diverse housing opportunities with 2500 new dwellings proposed.

The aim of the plan is to be able to create a broad set of housing for Hobart as well as a wide range of community amenity blended together in a sustainable suburb.
