"As architects, we have the incredible opportunity and responsibility to shape the future of our environment. Every design decision, big or small, can lead us towards a more sustainable, inclusive, and enjoyable built environment."

A Certified Passive House Designer and leader of the ESD group driving our practice’s Sustainability Action Plan, Sindy is a passionate, informed and influential Project Architect in our education sector. She helps CHC share knowledge and advocate for higher ESD impacts on our projects.

Sindy leads project and consultant teams throughout the design process, from masterplanning to construction. A great listener and clear communicator with a holistic approach, she ensures the brief is delivered and vision realised on time and within budget. She’s an astute problem-solver, an organised project manager, and a talented all-rounder and mentor.

Over the past decade Sindy has worked on a range of education, community hubs, libraries and sports infrastructure projects. Her experience includes Early Learning Centres and specialist, primary and secondary schools. Her architectural specialties include educational planning and design; shared use-community facilities that benefits schools and the wider community; and Passive House Design – extremely energy efficient buildings that minimise operational energy consumption as the first step towards achieving Net Zero and a more sustainable built environment.

Early career experience in high-end residential design gave Sindy an appreciation of beautiful detailing. But she’s found her purpose in education and community projects, which create spaces for the benefit and enjoyment of broader communities. She believes architects have a responsibility to design for a Net Zero and regenerative future. She’s excited by the potential to demonstrate, influence and empower the next generation and wider community through the educational environments in which they gather and learn. Outside work, she’s also a keen ceramicist with a passion for vessels that are beautiful and functional – a lot like her architecture.
